Measure I - Trinidad Sales Tax Certified

For those of you who voted yes, thanks for your vote and confidence, and for helping us keep Trinidad running. For those of you who voted no, I would very much like to hear your reasons, provide a voice for those reasons to the Council, and work hard to gain your support and trust.

At issue was Measure I:
Shall a ¾% increase in the transaction and use tax in the City of Trinidad be approved for four years, starting on April 1, 2009?


THE FINAL RESULTS OF THE VOTES CAST IN PRECINCT 5T-1:

Number of ballots cast at the polls: 128
Yes: 68
No: 60

Total absentee ballots: 96
Yes: 49
No: 47

Number of provisional ballots: 0

TOTAL VOTES COUNTED: 224
YES: 117
NO: 107

I certify, under penalty of perjury, that the above records are a true and accurate accounting
of the election results.

    Congratulations on all you successes in Trinidad. I have enjoyed reading your new blog and most recent City Council win. Brings back many memories of my 20 years there.('83 - 03)
    I really enjoyed the link to the Chamber of Commerce. It is so different than in the '80's when we put together the Discover Trinidad brochure and tried to market via hand delivery. Technology is wonderful! paulkirk2003@comcast.net
